A few general things to note:

🌍 Global Channels

These are channels everyone is automatically added to upon joining the Slack community. They are numbered in order to make them easy to find at the top of your channel navigation on the left side of your Slack window. Click on the little arrows below to learn more about these channels.

⚠️ Note: To keep our global channels relevant for everyone, please use our location-specific channels for location-specific posts.

🤝 Sub-Group Channels

These are channels for people who belong to a certain sub-group of members:

🦸‍♀️ WAC Org Channels

These are channels for anyone who is interested in getting more involved with Women and Climate, either as a City Lead or through other ad-hoc volunteering opportunities.

đź“ŤLocation-Specific Channels

Find your local community in our location-specific channels! All of these channels follow the same naming convention:

#meet-[city/region/country]

Click on the little arrows below to see all the location-specific channels we have created so far. Check in regularly for new additions, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you would like to have a channel created for your area!

Insider Tip: These channels can also be helpful when you are traveling and would like to connect with the local WAC Community at your destination!

🎯Topic-Specific Channels

Our topic-specific channels are meant for everyone who is working in a specific industry/ climate vertical or is simply interested in chatting and learning more about a certain topic:

<aside> đź’ˇ Reminder: You can find any of these channels by using the Slack channel search. Feel free to send a message to @Stephanie Korbely via Slack anytime in case you have any trouble finding or joining channels, or for any questions about Slack in general.

<aside> ❌ Before posting, please take a peek at the topic of the channel you are posting in (at the very top of your Slack window, to the right of the channel name) and ask yourself if it’s the best spot for your post (i.e. is your content best suited for this channel?). Please don’t cross-post to more than one global (= numbered) channel because it can lead to notification overload without adding actual news value. When in doubt where to post, feel free to reach out to @Stephanie Korbely.
